Vic’s Espresso/Peerless 2009 Rider Photo and Profile Susan Collins Hometown: Enid, Oklahoma Occupation: Accounting Manager Susan grew up in Oklahoma and traveled with her family to Colorado each year to ski and play in the mountains. After completing her BA in Geology at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, she returned to Tulsa to work as a petroleum geologist in the mid-continent region. Once Susan realized that she might be stuck in the flatlands forever if she continued down the current path, she high-tailed it back to the mountains and completed an MBA. Since that time she has evolved from being an operations manager at a medical device manufacturer to an accounting manager. Susan got hooked on cycling at an early age when her mom used to pedal her around the neighborhood on her dad’s Schwinn Hornet. Many bikes later, friends and teammates continue to inspire her to ride. “Watching the team race and knowing how much talent we have is an amazing energizer”. Her favorite training ride is any place in the mountains. To avoid the busy summer highways, she likes to take Left Hand Canyon to Jamestown, back down the canyon and loop up to Ward, returning home via the canyon and the back side of Lee Hill. “Our sponsors have great products that make descending the canyon in the early spring or in a downpour in the heat of summer a real treat. The LT test and analysis is currently Susan’s favorite offering at the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine. “I have learned how to train from the best!
