Vic’s Espresso/Peerless 2009 Rider Photo and Profile John Talley DOB: October 22, 1964 Years Racing: 20 Hometown: Longmont, CO Occupation: Fitness Equipment Sales Rep Nickname: JT John grew up in Central Florida and had a brief college career as a running back in Georgia. He first started racing as a triathlete, where he quickly discovered he swam “like a rock” but was good on the bike. John now focuses on time trials, road races and track racing. One highlight of cycling for John was competing in 1995 in a USPRO Road Race. If John was not racing, he said he would be “300 lbs. and drunk.” If John were not racing, we also would not have a Vic’s Team President, since John is ours. He has been a team member since 1998 and served as president since 2006. John said he is “always looking for opportunity in business and with advancing the team.” John shares that his first job out of college was as a Forester in FL, GA, and Alabama.  He said, “I purchased timber for logging - it was like the "AX Men" reality show on TLC.” His favorite ride in the Boulder area is Lefthand Canyon to Peak to Peak and down South St. Vrain Canyon. He also likes the Old La Honda Road loop south of San Francisco, CA. When it comes to our sponsored Specialized cycling gear, John is a big fan of the bikes and the helmets. John picked Superman as his super hero for a week because “he has all the powers.” John’s favorite Vic’s Espresso drink is a Skinny Latte extra hot! On and off the bike John is known for his very sharp wit. His other interests include playing guitar, fly-fishing, hiking, wine, and cold beer!
