Vic’s Espresso/Peerless 2009 Rider Photo and Profile Dennis Hastings DOB: May 12, 1950 Years Racing: 4 Hometown: Evergreen, CO Occupation: Retired HS Teacher/Coach Dennis is a very accomplished competitive rower and has earned many World, National, and Regional Championships indoors and on the water. He began racing bikes just 4 years ago simply because he wanted to. Dennis enjoys riding the roads north of Boulder and although he lives in Evergreen, CO, he consistently travels to Boulder to ride with the team – always on time and prepared, making training rides, track workouts, and races for the team. Dennis said it is important to him to, “be a good teammate and personally be better, stronger, faster.” He said support and loyalty to the team is “what it’s about.” He has come on strong with excellent success in both the Team and Individual Time Trials. His favorite piece of Specialized equipment is his Transition Time Trial Bike. In the future Dennis is interested in racing more on the track and becoming a Judge/Referee for cycling races. Dennis said he is, “crazy, head over heels in love with my wife, Richelieu (Richi for everyday, Lou when I want her rapt attention to my bellowing).” He also enjoys traveling. His choice for superhero for the week would be John Harvey; his preferred drink at Vic’s is a Lemonade or Orange Juice.
