April 1970 Hometown: Evergreen, CO Profession: Pilates Instructor in training April's love of biking emerged after her two little girls were out of diapers.  With her new-found freedom, April had time to train, and her college roommate and best friend, Christy Orris, was ready to teach her the finer points of triathlon racing.  April's first bike was a Kestral, equipped with aerobars.  April started off racing the Boulder Peak Triathlon, and managed to pull off a sub-3-hour race straight out of the blocks.   Growing up in Evergreen, CO, April often saw lots of lycra riding by her house in mid-July -- as riders from the Triple By Pass made their way past her childhood home.  April dreamed of being able to complete this event one day, and managed to pick the rainiest / snowiest year to do so.  She was one of a handful of riders to complete the Triple ByPass ---- in the rain and hail of 2006.  She has also completed five Ride the Rockies tours.  So, if you're ever looking for a riding partner in the rain, call April.   Jamestown is one of April's favorite local rides, with the back side of Lee Hill being the best way to finish off.   April is re-tooling her career to become a Pilates Instructor.  She will complete her training in March of 2010, and will be able to work with bike racers to improve their core strength and flexibility.
